Solution

Given:-

  • Length of rectangular park=40 m
  • Wide of rectangular park = 25 m
  • A path 2.5m wide is constructed outside the park

Find :-

  • Area of path

Explanation

Using Formula

Area of rectangle = Length × Wide

So, first calculate Area of rectangular park

==> Area of rectangular park = 40 ×25

==> Area of rectangular park = 1000 m²

Now, according to question

path 2.5m wide is constructed outside the park

That's mean ,

New rectangular park

where,

  • Length =42.5 m
  • Wide = 27.5

So,

==> Area of new rectangular park = 42.5 × 27.5

==> Area of new rectangular park = 1168.75 m²

For area of Path,

==> Area of path =Area of rectangular park -Area of New rectangular park

==> Area of path = 1168.75 - 1000

==> Area of path = 168.75 m²

Hence

  • Area of path will be = 168.75
