Answer:

area of room: 8.5*5.5=46.75m2

in cm=4675cm2

area of tile = 100 cm2

number of tiles = 4675/100=46.75cm2

Here we are given the dimensions of the room

length = 8.5 m

width = 5.5 m

The side length of the tiles is 10 cm

We have to find the number of tiles needed

Area of the floor = 8.5 × 5.5

                           = 46.75 m²

Area of the one tile = 0.1 × 0.1 m²

                                = 0.01 m²

Number of tiles needed = \frac{area of floor}{ area  of  tile}

                                        = \frac{46.75}{0.01}

                                        = 4675

So, 4675 tiles will be needed for the entire floor.
