Step-by-step explanation:

=> she made a total loss of 90-x=-10

x=Rs. 100

it is given that she incurs a loss of 50 paise per pencil

=> She sold 100÷1/2

= 100×2=200

Therefore she sold 200 pencils that month

Answer:

14 pencils and 20 erasers were sold on that day.

Step-by-step explanation:

Profit earned on selling a pen = ₹2

Loss on selling a pencil = 50 p. = 0.5 Rs.

Loss on selling an eraser = 15p. = ₹0.15

Let the no. of pencils sold be 7x and erasers be 10x.

No. of pens sold = 10

Total Profit = ₹10

2*10 - 7x*0.5 - 0.15 *10x = ₹10

20 - 3.5x - 1.5x = ₹10

-5x = -10

x= 2

Now,

No. of pencils = 7x = 7*2 = 14

No. of erasers = 10x = 10*2 = 20

Therefore, 14 pencils and 20 erasers were sold on that day.

Hope it helps you.....
