Explanation:

given mass of solute ,(ethanol) = 3.4 g

number of moles of solute will be = 3.4/46

= 0.074

mass of solvent ( water ) in kg = 0.5 kg

.°. molality =no of moles of solute .

mass of solvent in kg

= 0.074

0.5 kg

= 0.148 molal
