3. A train 190 m long passes a railway platform 250 m long in 22 seconds. Desem
(a) the speed of the train in kmh
(b) the time taken by the train to pass a stationary person
c) the time taken by the train to pass a man running in the direction of the train at the speed of 10m/s1

Answer:

Explanation:

a) Total distance = 190 + 250 = 440 m

    Speed(in m/s) = 20 m/s

                             = 72 km/h

b) Total distance = 190 m

   Speed = 20 m/s

   Time taken = 9.5 secs

c) Speed of train = 20 m/s

   Speed of man = 10 m/s

They are moving in same direction ......

So, relative speed = 10 m/s

Therefore, time taken = 19 secs...

Answer:

speed of train (190+250)/22=20 m/s

20m/s× 1000/(60×60) =20×1000/36000=20×18/5

20×18/5=360/5=72km/h

b>length of train=190m

let horizontal length of person be negligible

here length of train=distance covered by train in crossing a stationary person

time =distance/speed

190/20=9.5 sec

C >speed of train-speed of man running in train direction

20m/s-10m/s

speed of train after subtracting speed of man running in direction of train=10m/s

and distance=length of the train=190m

so time =D/S =190/10=19 sec (Answer)
