Given: Total time to reach from Station A to Station B

is 5 hrs.

Stoppage Time is 1 hr.

Distance between the two Stations is 240 Km.

To find: a) Average Speed

b) Train's Speed

Solution: a) average Speed is defined as :

" Total distance covered divided by total time taken to cover that distance".

Therefore, average speed = 240/5 = 48 Km/hr

b) Train's Speed = Total Distance covered by train divided by time for which the train was moving.

Hence, Train's speed = 240/4 = 60 Km/hr

Therefore average speed is 48 km/hr and train's speed is 60 km/hr.

Answer:

Solution: a) average Speed is defined

as:

"Total distance covered divided by total time taken to cover that distance".

Therefore, average speed = 240/5 = 48

Km / h * r

b) Train's Speed = Total Distance covered by train divided by time for which the train was moving.

Hence, Train's speed = 240/4 = 60Km / h * r

Therefore average speed is 48km / h * r and train's speed is 60km / hrs.
