The area of the trapezium is 240cm² + 54cm² = 294cm².

Draw a line from R to PQ meeting PQ at point T

From the figure, we can infer that SP and RT are parallel.

SP=RT=12cm

SR=PT=20cm

Therefore, TQ=9cm

Area of trapezium = Area of rectangle + Area of triangle

Area of rectangle = Length × Breadth = 12 × 20 = 240cm²

Area of triangle = 1/2 × base × height = 1/2 × TQ × RT

Area = 1/2 ×9 ×12 = 54cm²

Therefore, area of trapezium = 240cm² + 54cm² = 294cm²
