Answer:

(a) 1st number = x

2nd number = (take any random number) 2

x - 2 = 5

x = 5 + 2

x = 7

Hence, 7 - 2 = 5

(b) 1st number = x

2nd number = 5

x + 5 = - 2

x = - 2 - 5

x = -7

Hence, - 7 + 5 = - 2

(c) 1st number = a

2nd number = 7

a + 7 = - 3

a = - 3 - 7

a = - 10

Hence 1st pair = - 10 + 7 = - 3

Use the same method to find out the other four or just add 1.

Eg. (- 10 + 1) + (7 + 1) = - 3

- 11 + 8 = - 3 (2nd pair)

3rd pair = -12 + 9 = - 3

4th pair = - 13 + 10 = - 3

5th pair = - 14 + 11 = - 3

Hope it helps
