3 Amit wants to cover the floor of a room 6.5
m wide and 8 m long with square tiles. If
each tile has sides of 0.5 m, then find the
number of tiles required to cover the entire
floor of the room.​

Answer:

area of room = l * b = 6.5m * 8m = 52.0 sq. m

area of one tile = side * side = 0.5m * 0.5m = 0.25 sq. m

tiles required to cover the floor of room = area of room ÷ area of one tile = 52.0 sq. m ÷ 0.25 sq. m = 208 tiles
