Correct Question :

  • An object takes 5 sec to reach the ground from a height of 5 m on a planet. What is the value of g on the planet?

Given :

  • Initial velocity ( u ) = 0 m/s

  • Displacement ( s ) = 5 m

  • Time taken ( t ) = 5 sec

To Find :

  • Acceleration due to gravity ( g )

Solution :

By using 2nd equation of motion

 \large\implies\boxed{ \boxed{\sf \blue{s = ut +  \frac{1}{2}g {t}^{2}}}} \\  \\ \implies \sf 5 = 0 \times 5 +  \frac{1}{2} \times g  \times {5}^{2} \\  \\ \implies\sf 5 =  \frac{25}{2}g \\  \\ \implies \sf g =  \frac{5 \times 2}{25} \\  \\\implies \sf g =   \frac{2}{5} \\  \\\large\implies\underline{\boxed{ \green{ \sf g = 0.4 \:  {ms}^{ - 2}}}}
