(i) sin 45° + cos 45°

Given:

By trigonometric identities, we can say

sin 45° = 1/√2

and cos 45° = 1/√2

Adding them, we get

sin 45° + cos 45° = 1/√2 + 1/√2

⇒ sin 45° + cos 45° = 2/√2 = √2

Thus, sin 45° + cos 45° = √2.
