(a) Why does the poet look down the road as far as he can see?
=He looked down one as far as he could see. It was quite fair the other one is equally tempting but it seemed to have a better claim because it was a grassy and it had not been trampled upon. Both the road seemed alike to him that morning. Nobody had walked on the leaves which had not turned black. He was on the horns of a dilemma.

b) What does the poem Night of the Scorpion say about a mother?
The poem “Night of the Scorpion” is about a night in which the mother of the poet was stung by a scorpion. The mother cried in pain for the whole night. Different people held different opinions for the incident. Some said that it was a curse of the mother for the wrongs which she did in her last life.
