1. The Bahmani Sultanate was a Persian sultanate that ruled over the Deccan as a Muslim state in southern India. The Vijaynagar empire also ruled over the Deccan plateau in southern India. Both these empires co-existed, and the Bahmani Islamic state and the Vijaynagar empire were constantly at war with one another.
