During a recent conversation with a friend, a rather remarkable fact about Yellowstone National Park came to light – and, as a purveyor of all things Yellowstone, I was astonished that I was only just being made aware of it. Namely, did you know that in one small area atop this famous supervolcano it’s legally possible to murder someone?

No, I’m not referring to the geothermal hot springs, some of which are hellish enough to dissolve an entire human in less than 24 hours. No, I’m not saying you should actually go to Yellowstone and murder someone. Quite the opposite, in fact: murder is awful. Please refrain from doing this
