To calculate total weight of the fishes we will add the weight of the fishes caught by Bran and his son

so,

Total weight of fishes = 3 ¾ + 2 ½

•Convert them to improper fractions

=> (3×4+3)/4 + (2×2+1)/2

=> 15/4 + 5/2

•Take LCM of denominators:-

i.e 4

=> 15/4 + 10/4

Take the denominator as common and add both the numerators

=> 25/4 (This is a improper form)

•Converting into the proper form

=> 6 ¼
