To Find :

The rule which can define the number of cadets given the number of rows.

Solution :

Given there are 5 cadets in a row, so if :

1] Number of row is 1 ,

Number of cadets = 1×5

or, Number of cadets = 5

2] Number of rows are 2

Number of cadets = 2×5

or, number of cadets = 10

3] Number of rows are 3

Number of cadets = 3×5

or, number of cadets = 10

Similarly,

If number if rows are 'n' then,

Number of cadets = 5n

Hence, the rule that defines number of cadets is '5n'
