Let the cost of one calculater= x rupees
" cost of one battery = y rupees
Given, 3 calculators and 12 batteries cost 585
3 x + 12 y = 585
x =585 - 12y/3 .... (i)
Also, x + 5y = 202.50 .... (ii)
using value of x from (i) in (ii) we get
585 -12y/ 3 + 5y = 202.50
585 -12y +15 y /3 = 202.50
585 + 3y = 202.50 × 3
3y = 607.50 - 585
y = 22.50 / 3
y = 7.5 rupees
thus , x = 165 rupees
cost of calculator = 165 and cost of battery = 7.5
