Technically, displacement is the shortest distance between any two points .If u say that displacement is greater than distance travelled,you will contradict above statement.Displacement is always less than or equal to distance .Note that distance is scalar quantity whereas displacement is vector quantity. So displacement cannot be greater than distance travelled
