Karan sat on the front seat of his car which was driven by dad. Karan did not
wear the seat belt. His dad asked him to wear seat belt as it was very necessary in
case of emergency when breaks have to be applied suddenly. He explained him
the reason and Karan got convinced.

i) Seat belts are required to save a person during a crash . When there is a car , the suddenly comes to rest ( inertia of rest) .

The lower part of our body suddenly comes to rest but the upper part of the body remains in motion ( inertia of motion ) hence we tend to lean forward.

To avoid this seat belts are there.

ii)In high end cars there are air bags which come into action the moment when the car crashes .
