let the cost of one chair be x and that of 1 table be y
ATQ: 3x + 2y = 700........ (i)
& 5x + 3y = 1100......... (ii)
by elimination method (i) × 5 - (ii) ×3
15x + 10y = 3500
-15x- 9y = -3300
0+ y = 200...... y = 200
using this value of y in (i) we get
x = 700 - 400 /3 = 300/ 3 =100
x = 100
therefore cost of one chair = x = 100 rupees and of one table is = y = 200
so cost of 2 chair + cost of 2 table = 2 × 100 + 2 × 200 = 200 + 400 = 600 rupees
Hence the cost of 2 chair and 2 table is rupees 600.
