3. Chapter ‘The Portrait of a Lady’ and poem ‘Photograph’ both deal with the theme of nostalgia, too. Bring the comparison and contrast dealt by the writers in both the compositions and mention how it is relevant in today’s Indian context. Also, create a poem or monologue to express your innermost feelings to someone you are unable to see. The loved one can be a deceased relative, or someone who moved away and lives in another state or country. by brainly

Chapters ‘The Portrait of a Lady’ and poem ‘Photograph’ both deal with the theme of nostalgia. In the former chapter Kushwant Singh pays a glowing tribute to his grandmother by remembering and describing some important incidents of her life.

In the latter chapter, Shirley Toulson remembers her deceased mother by looking at her childhood photograph.

Both the chapters end with the sadness associated with the death of beloved ones.

Monologue

I also miss my deceased mother with a pang in my heart. I miss her presence in my life; with her passing away, an emptiness has been created that can never be filled by anyone or anything. Mothers are the most loving, supporting, caring, and protective beings whose place can not be taken by anyone. God bless her wherever she is!
