Comparing the ratio

  • 5 : 17 & 18 : 21

We have to cross multiply the terms for comparing both.

\pink \longrightarrow  \small \frac{5}{17}    \large \: {\times } \:  \small  \frac{18}{21}

⟹ 5 × 21 = 105

⟹ 17 × 18 = 306

\: \: \: \: \: \: So, 105 < 306

Now ,

\frac{5}{17} < \frac {18}{21}

This means ;

5 : 17 < 18 : 21

Hence , it is compared.

18 : 21 is more than 5 : 17  \large \red✓
