and T, = 300 K producing 1 kJ of mechanical work
per cycle. Find the heat transferred to the engine by the
reservoirs.

Efficiency of any engine = Work done by it / Heat provided to it

And in, Carnots Heat Engine

Efficiency = 1-T2/T1

where , T2 is the sink Temperature and T1 is the source temperature

.So,

Work done / Heat given to it = 1-T2/T1

So,

1000/Heat given = 1-300/500

Heat given = 2500 Joules
