Criteria for classification of computer systems

Explanation:

Classifications of Computers System:-

  • On the Basis of capacity and Size foe eg. Supercomputer, Mainframe, Mini, and Micro Computer.
  • On the Basis of Purposes for eg. General and Special Purpose.
  • On the Basis of Hardware Design for eg. Hybrid ,Analog, and Digital Computer.
  • A Supercomputer is the very quickest and powerful, and pricey sort of pc for processing data. Supercomputers’ size and garage capability also are huge (can occupy huge premises) designed to process vast amounts of information in a quick time with excessive productivity.
  • Mainframe computer systems are multi-programming, high-overall performance computer systems, and multi-user, because of this that they are able to manage the workload of more than 100 users at a time at the computer.
  • Minicomputer is a digital and multi-user computer machine with the connection of more than one CPU. Thus, many people can work on those computer systems concurrently rather than a single person. Also, it is able to process with different add-ons like a printer, plotter, etc.
  • General computer systems can do various everyday responsibilities such as writing a word processing letter, Document preparation, recording, financial analysis, Printing documents, developing databases, and calculations with accuracy and consistency.
  • Special Purpose - These computer systems are designed to carry out a selected  specialised task. The size, storage capability, and cost of such computer systems specially rely upon the nature and size of the work. The feature of those computer systems is constant with any specific task.
  • Analog Computer - An analog computer performs tasks using continuous data .Analog computer systems are used mostly to measure physical units just like the voltage, pressure, electric current, temperature, and convert them into digits.
  • Digital Computer - As its name suggests, a digital pc represents the digital pc’s letters, numerical values, or some other unique symbols. This computer is the computer that calculates the range for processing the data.
  • Hybrid Computer - A hybrid computer is a mixed complex computer unit built using both analog and digital properties and united with the aid of using a single control system. The reason of designing hybrid computer systems is to offer functions and features that may be located on each analog and digital devices.
