GIVEN:

Curved surface area of a cone CSA= 308 cm²

slant height l= 14 cm

TO FIND:

(i) radius of the base

(ii) Total surface area of the cone.

FORMULA USED:

CSA=π×r×l

TSA=π×r×l+π×r²

L=√r²+h²

SOLUTION:

(i)CSA=π×r×l

308=$\frac{22}{7}$×r×14

308×7=22×14×r

2128=308×r

r=$\frac{2128}{308}$

r=7 cm

(ii)TSA=π×r×l+π×r²

=$\frac{22}{7}*7*14+\frac{22}{7}*7*7$

=22×14+22×7

=2310 cm²
