Pasteurisation:— Pasteurisation is a process in which microorganisms are destroyed by first subjecting them to high temperature and then suddenly cooling. Milk is heated at 70°C temperature for about half a minute, and then suddenly cooled. This kills most of the bacterias. This process is used for the preservation of milk for a long time.
Food can be preserved by methods such as refrigeration, dehydration or drying, addition of salt and sugar, freezing, smoking, adding preservatives, pasteurization, canning, sterilization etc.
