take an iron nail and a cork of same weight. Take a beaker full of water. Put iron nail and cork in the water. You will observe that iron nail sinks whereas cork floats. This is because density of iron nail is more than the density of water so it sinks while the density of cork is less than that of water so it floats. So this activity shows that object with less density than of water floats on water surface.
