The climate of prairies is continental, with hot and cold extremes. The summers are warm, with temperatures of around 20°C and winters are very cold with temperatures of around – 20°C.

  • There were millions of bison a few hundred years ago in the prairies, but we cannot see any now. Why?

Because there are no longer millions of animals migrating across the plains.
