Concave mirrors have a negative focal length and radius of curvature.
Convex mirrors have a positive focal length and radius of curvature.
Concave mirrors produce both real and virtual images.
Convex mirror produce only virtual images.
Concave mirrors are converging mirrors.
Convex mirrors are diverging mirrors.
To draw a concave mirror, take a radius of about 3 cm and draw an arc to your right side. Shade it from the right side.
To draw convex mirror, take a radius of about 3 cm and draw an arc to your left. Shade it from the right side.

Spherical mirrors are of two types -:
• Concave mirror
• Convex mirror
Differences :
• Concave mirror (Converging mirror)
- The reflecting surface is bulged inwards.
- It produces real and inverted images, but when the object is placed between the pole and focus, it produces erect and virtual image.
- Centre of curvature lies in front of the mirror.
• Convex mirror (Diverging mirror)
- The reflecting surface is bulged outwards.
- It produces virtual and erect images only. It will never produce real and inverted images.
- The centre of curvature lies behind the mirror.
