1 Distance is a scalar quantity and displacement is a vector quantity. 

2 To calculate distance, direction is not considered and To calculate displacement, direction is taken into consideration.

3 Distance can only have positive values and Displacement can be positive, negative and even zero.

4 Distance is not indicated with an arrow and Displacement is always indicated with an arrow.

5 Distance = Speed × Time and Displacement = Velocity × Time
