First Battle

The first battle of panipat was fought between Babur and the Delhi sultanate ruler Ibrahim Lodi in 1526. The use of canons by the army of Babur simply gave them a very high advantage over the army of Ibrahim Lodi. Consequently, Ibrahim was defeated and it lead to rise of the Mughal Empire.

Second Battle

The 2nd battle of Panipat was fought between Hemu, the hindu emperor of north India and Akbar, the third emperor of Mughal Empire in 1556. Till that time Bairam Khan used to be the guardian of Akbar as he was very young when he was appointed as an emperor. On the behalf of Akbar, Bairam Khan used to manage the things.

Hemu had acquired the region's of Agra and Delhi. On getting the news, Akbar marched to panipat to reclaim the lost territories. In the battle, Hemu was on the verge of victory but he was wounded by an arrow. He fell unconscious. Seeing their leader go down, the army panicked and eventually lost the battle.
