Given:

एक आदमी ने 10 अण्डे ₹ 4 के, की दर से 60 दर्जन अण्डे खरीदे. 5 दर्जन अण्डे उनमें से टूट गए. उसने शेष अण्डे 8 अण्डे ₹ 3-60 की दर से बेच दिए |

To find:

उसे कितना लाभ हुआ?

Solution:

The C.P. of 10 eggs = Rs. 4

So, The C.P. of 1 egg = Rs. $\frac{4}{10}$

∴ The C.P. of 60 dozen eggs i.e., 60 × 12 = 720 eggs is,

= $\frac{4}{10} \times 720 = Rs. \:288$

5 dozen eggs were broken

i.e., No. of eggs broken = 5 × 12 = 60

∴ The remaining no. of eggs = 720 - 60 = 660

The S.P. of 8 eggs = Rs. 3.60

∴ The S.P. of 660 eggs = $\frac{3.60}{8} \times 660 = Rs\:297$

Therefore, we can conclude that,

The man bought 720 eggs at Rs. 288

He sold 660 eggs at Rs. 297

∴ He made a profit of = Rs. 297 - RS. 288 = Rs. 9

Thus, the man made a profit of Rs. 9 in the whole transaction.
