Three examples for converting the electrical energy into mechanical are:

1. While using washing machine, the electrical energy is converted into mechanical. The technique called centrifugation is applied in washing machine.

2. Another example is the grinding machine or the blender. The blades present in them spins when they are powered on. Then the engine of the grinder transforms the energy of electricity into mechanical form.

3. We can even see this conversion in electric fan. The motor present in the fan is capable of transforming the energy of electricity into mechanical form.

4. Other examples includes: E-rickshaws, vacuum cleaner, trimmer and roller coaster

Three examples for electrical energy to mechanical energy are :

Electric fan :

  • When electrical energy in the form of AC (Alternating Current) is supplied to the fan, the capacitor in the fan stores the energy and uses it to rotate the fan. The capacitor supplies power to the stator windings which develop a rotating magnetic field and cause the rotor (electric motor) to rotate in the direction of the magnetic field. This energy is thus transferred to the fan blades and hence mechanical energy conversion takes place.

Blender or Grinder :

  • The blender incorporates a motor that converts the supplied electrical energy into mechanical energy for the rotating blades. When the motor is activated, a coupler shaft connected to the motor rotates at its speed and consequently it is transferred to the blade.

Washing machine :

  • The electric motor present in the washing machine converts electrical energy into rotational kinetic energy (ie, mechanical energy) that helps wash the clothes.
