Contact Forces : The forces which are applied on bodies by making a physical contact with them, are called contact forces. e.g. the force of friction (frictional force), normal reqction force. Non-contact Forces : The force experienced by the bodies even without being physically touched, are called non-contact forces.eg:Falling of raindrops on earth is also an example of non-contact force. The charging of the hair and attraction of paper bits towards it.

A non-contact force is a force which acts on an object without coming physically in contact with it. The most familiar non-contact force is gravity, which confers weight. In contrast a contact force is a force applied to a body by another body that is in contact with it.
