Answer:

a)The wavelike muscular contractions of the digestive tract or other tubular structures by which contents are forced onward toward the opening is known as peristalsis.

b)Bio-war is the devastating attack by biological weapons to cause associated specific diseases to other countries or a region.

Any infectious agents or toxic chemical could in theory be engineered for deliberate use as a weapon.

Bioweapons such as Anthrax, Botulism and Variola have been studied as weapons, engineered and in some cases even deployed to devastating affect.

c) Basal metabolism (or) Basal Metabolic Rate, also known as BMR, is the amount of energy your body burns at rest on a daily basis. In other words, It is the number of calories required to keep your body function while you are not doing any physical activities.

d) Casing is the process of covering of soil with peat and other organic matter. Casing soil acts as the substrate used to grow various kinds of mushrooms at home.

e) Glycolysis is the stage in cellular respiration that is involved in the cellular degradation of the simple sugar, glucose to pyruvate in order to yield high-energy molecules such as ATP and NADH.

The most common and well-known type of glycolysis is the Embden-Meyerhof-Parnas pathway.

In Embden-Meyerhof-Parnas pathway, glycolysis is comprised of two phases: (1) the energy-investment phase (where ATP is consumed) and (2) the energy-payoff phase (where ATP is produced).

Answer:

Peristalsis term.

Peristalsis is a series of wave-like muscle contractions that moves food to different processing stations in the digestive tract. ... The strong wave-like motions of the smooth muscle in the esophagus carry the food to the stomach, where it is churned into a liquid mixture called chyme.

Biowar term.

Warfare in which disease-producing microorganisms, toxins, or organic biocides, e.g., Bacillus anththracis or Yersinia pestis are deliberately used to destroy, injure, or immobilize livestock, vegetation, or human life, as by causing diseases, e.g., anthrax or plague. Synonym: biowar See: chemical warfare

Basal metabolism term.

Basal metabolic rate (BMR) is the rate of energy expenditure per unit time by endothermic animals at rest. ... Metabolism comprises the processes that the body needs to function. Basal metabolic rate is the amount of energy per unit of time that a person needs to keep the body functioning at rest.

Casing term.

Case or covering; housing. material for a case or covering. the framework around a door or window. the outermost covering of an automobile tire. any frame or framework.

Glycolysis term.

Enzymatic breakdown of a carbohydrate (such as glucose) by way of phosphate derivatives with the production of pyruvic or lactic acid and energy stored in high-energy phosphate bonds of ATP.
