There are two movements of earth-:
1) ROTATION - The earth rotates at its own imaginary line that is known as its AXIS. Due to this rotation we have day and night. If you are able to see the light without any artificial medium then there is day and if not then there is night. It takes 24Hours in total to complete 1 Rotation.
2) REVOLUTION - The earth takes a round around the sun or we can say that it revolves around the sun due to which the seasons changes. The imaginary line or ORBIT at which earth revolves around the sun is oval in shape and is near the sun from one side compare to its opposite side. When earth is near the sun its Summer season and when it is far from the sun then its Winter season. It takes 365,1/4 days to complete 1 revolution.
