Pamir is called a knot because it is the convergence of one of the major mountain ranges of the world including the Tian Shan, Karakoram, Kunlun, Hindu Kush and the Pamir systems hope it’s help full

Pamir Knot is called so because many mountain ranges appear to radiate outwards in different directions from this small zone. To the east of the Pamir Knot extend the Kunlun mountains and to the north extend the Tien Shan mountains.
