Factorization means writing numbers in the form of product of their factors.

Question:

Factorise:  -9{x}^{2} - 27x - 20

Solution:

To factorize p(x)

 p(x) = -9{x}^{2} - 27x - 20

 p(x) = -9{x}^{2} - 15x - 12x - 20

 p(x) = -3x(3x+ 5) - 4(3x +5)

 p(x) = (3x+5)(-3x - 4)

So the factors of  p(x) = -9{x}^{2} - 27x - 20 are (3x+5)(-3x-4)

Answer:

x= -4/3

Or x= -5/3

Step-by-step explanation:

9x2+27x+20 sum=27

product=9×20=180

9x2+15x+12x+20=0

3x(3x+5) +4(3x+5)=0

(3x+4)(3x+5) =0

now to find zeroes, equate it to 0

3x+4=0

3x= -4

x= -4/3

3x= -5

x=-5/3

hope it's clear!!
