  • The area of the sector is 45 cm sq

Given:

The radius (r) of the sector is 6 cm

The length of the arc is (l) = 15 cm

To find:

The area of the sector.

The formula used to find the area of a sector in terms of an arc is

= 1/2 * l * r units sq.

[In which 'l' is the 'length os the arc' and 'r' is the 'radius' of the circle]

Now putting the value of radius (r) = 6 cm, and length of arc (l) = 15 cm,

We get,

= 1/2 * 15 * 6

= 15 * 3

= 45 cm sq.

--------

  • When the angle (Ф) of the sector and radius of the circle is given, then the formula to find the area of the sector is

⇒ Area = (Ф/360°) * πr² units sq.

  • When the angle (Ф) of the sector and radius of the circle is given, then the formula to find the length of an arc of the sector is

l = (Ф/360°) * 2πr units

  • The sum of the arcs of both sectors (both major and minor) will be equal to the circumference of the circle.
