1). Speed of train = 80 km/h

Time taken by train = 12 hrs

Distance covered by the train = speed × time

(80 × 12) km

= 960 km

If time is 3 hours more and speed is same, then,

Time = 12 + 3 = 15 hrs

Speed = 80 km/h

Distance= speed × time = (80 × 15) km

= 1200 km

2). Speed of that boy = 22 km/h

Time taken by him to reach his school = 30 minutes =  \frac {1}{2} hrs

Distance between his house and the school =

speed × time

(22 ×  \frac {1}{2} ) km

= 11 km

So, school is 11 km far from the boy's house.
