Answer:

(i) Sides are 11cm, 11cm and 8 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

perimeter = 30cm

unequal side = 8cm

equal sides = 30cm - 8cm= 22cm

each side = 22/2 = 11cm

therefore, sides are 11cm, 11cm and 8 cm.

♧QUESTION♧

Find the length of each of the equal sides of the isosceles triangle, if the perimeter and unequal side are :

(i) Perimeter = 30 cm, unequal side = 8 cm

♧SOLUTION♧

GIVEN

  • PERIMETER = 30 cm
  • UNEQUAL SIDE (BASE) = 8 cm

FORMULA

PERIMETER = 2a + b

ACCORDING\:TO\:QUESTION

 P = 2a + b

=> 30 = 2a + 8

=> 30-8 = 2a

=> 22 = 2a

=> \frac{22}{2} = a

=> 11 = a

THEREFORE

LENGTH OF EQUAL SIDES = 11 cm.

♧ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ♧

\small{Perimeter\:of\:isosceles\:triangle = 2a + b}

\small{Area\:of\:isosceles\:triangle =\frac{1}{4}×b×\sqrt{4a² - b²}}
