Answer:

The mean is the average of a data given. The formula to find the mean of a set of numbers is:-

\sf{\dfrac{Sum\:of\:all\:the\:numbers}{Total\:number\:of\:numbers}}

(a) The first 5 natural numbers = 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 , 5

     Applying the formula:

\sf{\dfrac{1+2+3+4+5}{5}=\dfrac{15}{5}=\dfrac{3}{1}}

Hence, the mean of the firt five natural numbers is 3.

(b) The first seven whole numbers = 0 , 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 , 6

    Applying the formula:

\sf{\dfrac{0+1+2+3+4+5+6}{7}=\dfrac{21}{7}=\dfrac{3}{1}}

Hence, the mean of the first seven whole numbers is 3.

(c) The first four prime numbers = 2 , 3 , 5 , 7

    Applying the formula:

\sf{\dfrac{2+3+5+7}{4}=\dfrac{17}{4}}

Hence, the mean of the first four prime numbers is 17/4.

(d) Given numbers = 7 , 19 , 31 , 43 , 70

    Applying the formula:

\sf{\dfrac{7+19+31+43+70}{5}=\dfrac{170}{5}=\dfrac{34}{1}}

Hence, the mean of the given numbers is 34.
