A die has 6 faces

1,2,3,4,5,6

a. 2,4,6 are even numbers

Therefore the probability of getting an even number is 3/6 (1/3 when simplified)

b. 1,3,5 are odd numbers

Therefore the probability of getting an odd number is 3/6 (1/3 when simplified)

c. Composite number is a number which has atleast 2 factors (2 or more factors)

1 has only 1 factor

1 = 1×1

2 has only 1 factor

2 = 2×1

3 has only 1 factor

3 = 3×1

4 has 2 factors

4 = 4×1

4 = 2×2, hence it is composite

5 has only one factor

5 = 5×1

6 has 2 factors

6 = 6×1

6 = 3×2 or 2×3

4 and 6 are composite numbers

Therefore the probability of getting a composite number is 2/6 (1/3 when simplified)

d. Prime number has only one factor, the number itself

1 has only 1 factor

1×1 = 1

2 has only 1 factor

2×1 = 2

3 has only one factor

3×1 = 3

4 has 2 factors, therefore it is not a prime number

4×1 =4

2×2 = 4

5 has only 1 factor

5×1 = 5

6 has two factors

6×1 = 6

3×2 = 6 or 2×3 = 6

1,2,3 and 5 are prime numbers

Therefore, the probability of getting a prime number is 4/6 (2/3 when simplified)

Hope it helps
