3. Find the value of k, if x - 1 is a factor of p(x) in each of the following case
(i) p(x) = 2x^2+kx+√2

x - 1 = 0 \\ x = 1

Put in p(x)

2( {2})^{2}  + 2k \:  +  \sqrt{2} = 0  \\ 8 + 2k +  \sqrt{2} = 0 \\ 2k =  - 8 -  \sqrt{2}  \\ k \:  =  \frac{ - 8 -  \sqrt{2} }{2}
