Put in p(x)

$2( {2})^{2} + 2k \: + \sqrt{2} = 0 \\ 8 + 2k + \sqrt{2} = 0 \\ 2k = - 8 - \sqrt{2} \\ k \: = \frac{ - 8 - \sqrt{2} }{2}$
