3. Find the values of x and y if :
(i) (x - 1, y + 3) = (4, 4)
(ii) (3x + 1, 2y – 7) = (9, - 9)
(iii) (5x – 3y, y - 3x) = (4, - 4)​

Answer:

i) x-1=4

×=4+1

×=5

y+3=4

y=4-3

y=1

ii)3x+1=9

3x=9-1

3x=8

x=8/3

2y-7= -9

2y=7-9

2y= -2

y= -2/2

y= -1
