The given figure has a square box as the place of angle, square box shows that the angle there is 90° .

So, sum of all angles from that point = 90°

Given angles are y , 30° + 2y , 40° - y

Their sum will be equal to 90°

y + ( 30° + 2y ) + ( 40° - y ) = 90°

y + 30° + 2y + 40° - y = 90°

y + 2y - y + 30° + 40° = 90°

2y + 70° = 90°

2y = 90° - 70°

2y = 20°

y = 10°

Therefore the value of 10°
