Let's assume Veena paid = x

a/c to question, akshitha paid 3 / 4 as much as veena paid.

so, Akshitha paid = 3x/4

again, a/c to question, veena paid 1 / 2 as much as lasya paid.

so, Lasya paid = 2x

total bill paid is given by,
Veena paid + Akshitha paid + Lasya paid = 1 [ actually we are found fractional paid of all friends that's why sum of fractional paid should be 1 ]

x + (3/4)x + 2x = 1

3x + (3/4)x = 1

15x/4 = 1

x = 4/15

hence, Veena paid 4/15 part of bill.

Answer:

We are given that:

Akshitha paid 3/4 as much as Veena. This means that Akshitha paid 3/4 x

Veena paid half as much as Laysa, i.e. Laysa paid twice as much as Veena. This means that Laysa paid 2x

Now the total bill is 100% of the paid which is 1 as a fraction. It is equivalent to the sum of the amount paid by each of the three.

This means that:

1=3/4 x+x+2x

1=  15/4 x

x=  4/15

This means that Veena paid 4/15 of the bill

Operations used are:

Addition, multiplication and division

Hope this helps 
