What is the solution to the following?

The total bill was Rs. 75 and the discount given was Rs. 5 so the actual bill amount is Rs. 70 now.

If we divide the amount evenly among three it will be

70/3=23.3333

Now the waiter keeps Rs. 2 and the remaining Rs. 3 distributes between the three so, individually they get Rs. 1 each.

So the total share of each individual will be

23.3333 + 1 = 24.3333

And 24.3333*3=72.9999 or 73. Therefore, 73+2=75.

So there is NO Rs. 1 missing.
