Explanation:

a. because gases has no definite volume. it occupies the space in the container in which it is kept

b. because intermolecular spaces are maximum and they collide with each other so it exerts pressure on the walls of container

c because it is compactly packed

d. To move a solid block of wood pressure is required

Answer:

(a) a gas fills the container it is kept because particles of has are constantly moving in all directions with different speeds.

Therefore they don't gave fixed volume and fill the vessel in which they are kept.

(b) particles of has are continuously moving in all directions with different speeds and as a result of their random motion, particles collide with each other and also the walls of the container, exerting force on the walls.

(c)a wooden table should be called solid because it has a definite shape and a fixed volume and it is rigid.

(d) we can easily move our hand in air since forces of attraction between air particles are very weak and hence we can easily overcome this force by the movement of our hand. In contrast, the particles of solid are tightly packed and hence interparticular forces of attraction are very strong, and as a result of this, the forces cannot be easily overcome by the movement of our hand. So we need a Karate expert to separate the wood particles.

Hope it helped!!
