1.Construction of a huge dam creates large scale destruction of natural vegetation and wildlife in those areas which get submerged. This is not good for the ecosystem. Hence, environmental aspects must be carefully looked into before building huge dams.

2.Most industries are concentrated around coal mines because coal is an important source of energy. It is used as raw material in various industries. So to reduce the transportation cost, most of the industries are located near coal mines.

3.Petroleum is referred to as Black Gold. ... When the petroleum is drilled from the ground in the liquid form, it is referred to as crude oil. This name black gold itself is an indication that it is very vital to humans. Because of its oil and worth, people refer to it gold.

4.Quarrying can become a major environmental concern because it may destroy the humus of soil which is much required for the growth of plants. It produces a lot of noise pollution due to use of explosives in order to break the huge chunks of rocks.
